Smokey Joe
There is a revival of Smokey Joe’s Cafe, the fun music revue from the 90s of the music of Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. This is a fun little show, in a nice little venue, where you get to relive some of the fun music of the 50s, including early R&B music and jazz and rockabilly styles. People really like to hear these old tunes again. In this version of the show, they use the stage itself to great purpose, taking in the whole stage space and using an on-stage band that really gives you the feel of those old timey nightclubs of that era. There is precious little talking and the focus is really on the music, with dancing too! Check it out if you get the chance.
