It seems that whenever JK Rowling, world famous author of the Harry Potter series is not writing books, she is constantly involved in lawsuits around the world.
In the latest lawsuit in New York, she is said to be suing over a fan’s Harry Potter encyclopedia. According to her, she says that her copyrights are being violated by a die hard Potter fan who has plans to publish a Potter encyclopedia.
Steven Vander Ark was accused of stealing her rights after planning to release the “Harry Potter Lexicon” and Rowling plans to pull all stops just to halt publication of said book. In a twist to the lawsuit, it has been said that Rowling herself is a fan of Vander Ark’s Lexicon website but she is not too pleased over the fact that he will be publishing the book and charging fans $24.95 for the tome. She says that she is disappointed that it does not contain any embellishment and commentary as well as discussions that made the website so successful. “It is nothing more than a rearrangement of my own work!” she exclaims.
