Rihana’s plea heard
Rihana, this year’s Grammy winner, put out a plea to help a cancer patient last month. More than 5000 people volunteered to be potential donors and contacted the bone marrow center and one such donor was identified as the potential donor for the particular patient. Rihana was trying to help Lisa Flynn from New York, who is 41 and was detected with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia, a highly destructive form of cancer. Rihana was very happy to find a donor for Flynn and said that she is greatly honored to be a part of the miracle. Rihana added that her prayers will be there with Lisa and her family.
Rihana was so touched by the plight of Lisa that she lent her name to the cancer campaign. With the plea of Rihana, DKMS, the leading bone marrow–donor center in the world was able to recruit and register the names of more than 2000 potential donors for the bone-marrow cancer patients. Lisa Flynn will soon undergo the bone marrow transplantation. Lisa Flynn thanked Rihana for saving her life and requested her to continue the work for spreading the importance of registering in the bone marrow donor registry in order to save the lives of hundreds of people suffering the plight of bone cancer.
