Johan Santana and Others’ Destiny
To my surprise, the local Boston and NY papers do not offer much in Johan Santana speculation this weekend. Anthony McCarron from Daily News said that other teams have more to offer than either the Mets or the New York Yankees. Tony Massarotti says the Sox could trade Ellsbury and lesser prospects while keeping Buchholz and Lester. However, that does not seem likely at all. O’s Assistant General Manager Jim Duquette and agent Dave Stewart were asked if they’d deal 2 of the Ellsbury/Buchholz/Lester triumvirate. The General Manager wants to keep them, but the agent said to trade them.
